Catherine and Philippe started their own domain from scratch in 1978. She was a teacher and he was a geologist. With modesty and hard work their wines are today a world reference for sweet Chenin.
Their domain is just over 10 ha and they produce Anjou red, white and the renowned Côteaux du Layon.
All the work is done manually and quality focused, native yeasts, no chaptalisation, only using volcanic sulphites at bottling.
Soil is mainly carboniferous schist which gives a specific minerality to their wines.
Catherine and Philippe manage to produce sweet wines at every vintage (naturally). Their wines avoid any heaviness and are always a pleasure to drink
